At Christ Church, we want to build up young people as disciples of Christ. As part of our Kids program, there are many opportunities for children, ranging from Toddlers to Year 5, and their families to grow in their love and knowledge of Christ, make friends and have fun. The same goes for our Youth programs, which run for Years 6 to Year 12.
All adults involved in leading, teaching and caring for children and youth are well-trained, have completed Safe Ministry Training within the past three years as required by the Anglican Diocesan Safe Ministry Ordinance and have current NSW Working With Children Checks verified by Christ Church St Ives.

Explorer Camp | Years 3-5
Explorer Camp is our camp for kids that runs over a weekend in the July school holidays, including Friday & Saturday night, held at the Youthworks Port Hacking Campsite. It’s a great time for children in Year 3 to Year 5 to hang out with friends, have heaps of fun enjoying camp activities with their leaders and growing as disciples of Christ as we explore God’s Word together.
Explorers Camp is fully supervised by members of our Children, Youth & Families Ministry Team, as well as Kids Leaders who have have completed Safe Ministry Training within the past three years as required by the Anglican Diocesan Safe Ministry Ordinance and have current NSW Working With Children Checks verified by Christ Church St Ives. Explorers Camp has a child to leader ratio of at least 1:5, with each block of kids cabins assigned two adult leaders of the same gender for support during the day and supervision overnight. Explorers Camp also has Camp Parents who come along for the weekend; a set of parents whose children are involved in our ministry at Christ Church join us for the weekend and help us out as ‘Camp Mum’ and ‘Camp Dad’.
