Let’s Keep Fuelling the Work

I am constantly encouraged by the ways God is at work among us. On Sundays people often share with me the way that God’s word has spoken to their hearts and minds. On Mondays we have had huge crowds (like more than 90!) at both Everyday English and the dinners. I love hearing that people are talking together about how awesome Jesus is and what he has done for us. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays (and other days!) people cram into rooms at church and all over the north shore for Growth Group, to read the Bible, to pray and to grow together. On Fridays the church is filled with young people, eager to learn more and to praise God’s name. People are serving with real joy across all our ministries and it is exciting.

Week after week, I see glimpses of what it means to build wholehearted disciples of Jesus and it fills me with praise and gratitude to God.

While all this is wonderful, as we look towards the end of 2025, we’re also facing a practical challenge. Our forecasts show a shortfall of around $90,000 in our giving. That’s not something to panic about, but it is something to pray about and for us to act on together.

The apostle Paul writes, “See that you also excel in this grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7). I love that he calls generosity a grace: it’s something that grows out of knowing God’s generosity to us. He gave His Son so that we might have life and our giving is a joyful response, a way of saying, “Lord, I trust you. I want to be part of what you’re doing.”

If you’re already giving, thank you. Truly. Your generosity is what keeps ministry happening every week, from Sundays, to Mondays, to Growth Groups to youth, kids, and global mission. If you’re able, could I ask you to prayerfully consider increasing your giving by a third or more in each of the next two months, November and December? That would go a long way to helping us close the gap.

If you haven’t yet started giving, can I encourage you to take that step? It’s a wonderful way to share in what God is doing here. Details on how to give are on our website (www.christchurch.com.au/give), or you can chat to one of our staff or wardens if you’d like help getting started.

I’m so thankful for your partnership in the gospel. Let’s keep stepping forward together, trusting God’s provision, giving with joy, and fuelling the work of building wholehearted disciples of Jesus.
