Special Religious Education (SRE) Scripture provides teaching on what the Bible says about life and who Jesus is, in our local primary and high schools.

SRE Scripture classes focus on teaching the core beliefs and practices of Christianity, with teachers guiding students' curiosity through a Biblical lens. Week by week, our team of teachers make connections with children and teens who are keen to learn and often don’t have the opportunity to attend a church, Sunday by Sunday.

Our SRE Scripture Team

Jo Kim, supported by our Youth Minister Jesse Baker, teaches SRE Scripture part-time at the local high school. She teaches 130 students across Years 7–10, delivering lessons in 16 classes over a fortnight. Each term, the high school SRE team also runs a seminar day and mentors the student leaders of the lunchtime Christian group.

Tash McConnell, our Children’s Minister, coordinates SRE across three local primary schools. She leads and supports a team of 16 volunteer teachers who teach SRE Scripture to 294 students. We are incredibly thankful for all those who teach and co-ordinate SRE Scripture in our local schools.
