Youth Parent Partnership Night
Join us for an evening where youth leaders and parents can connect over nibbles and hear from Marshall in a seminar on pornography, social media and gaming.
Many assume that pornography, social media, and gaming are harmless — but what impact do they really have on the development and wellbeing of young people?
In this seminar for youth parents and leaders, Marshall will unpack the effects of pornography, gaming, and social media on young minds and hearts. He will discuss:
• How these influences shape the brain and body — affecting thinking, emotions, and behaviour, as well as mental health and identity.
• The social consequences of these behaviours, including how sexualised media creates victims, shapes what’s considered “normal”, and fuels insecurity while reducing self-esteem and empathy.
• Practical steps parents and leaders can take to prevent the development of problematic behaviours — including how to create positive changes in a child’s environment and habits that foster resilience and wellbeing.
Marshall will also share proactive tools to help parents and leaders support young people in navigating these challenges with wisdom and confidence.
The seminar will conclude with an interactive Q&A.
